Dr. Daniel Amen: How to Create Positive Feelings and Happiness Immediately
Are you happy?
When I was fourteen my father asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. My answer was just one word, "happy". It's been a lifelong quest. And the insane overload of modern life is no help. Last week I drove the five hour trip between our Bay Area and north coast homes. The drive started with a huge back up on the Richmond bridge, followed by roadwork in Petaluma and rush hour in Santa Rosa. Not to mention the usual plethora of clueless drivers out to ruin my day. But I was smiling all the way because I was listening to my favorite playlist on Apple Car Play.
This got me thinking. If a great playlist can manage my driving angst, why don't I play it more often? Hmmmm.
Then I found this great video short by Dr. Daniel Amen. I've been a fan of his brain scan work for years. I offer it here for any of you who could use more happiness in your day. (And as my note-to-self to put these ideas to use!)
